Who qualifies as a resident of Minnesota?

In order to qualify as a resident, an individual must have maintained a legal residence in the state for at least 60 days prior to applying for or purchasing a license. Anyone 21 years of age or older must possess a current Minnesota driver’s license or Minnesota public safety ID.

 How do I purchase a license?

1. Log in

2. Click +Add To Cart next to the preferred item

3. Make the appropriate selections and click Continue

4. In the cart, click Checkout

5. Enter your contact and payment details

6. Check the boxes for Terms & Conditions and reCAPTCHA

7. Click Complete Transaction

 

Why won’t hard cards be offered?

Hard cards, or durable cards similar to credit cards, were evaluated and determined to be an added expense for customers. Licenses will still be available electronically for storage on a smart device or can be printed on paper and carried with you. License agents will also remain available statewide to sell licenses.

How do I create an account? (with LoginMN)

1. Click Account in the upper right corner

2. Enter login credentials if you already have an account or click Create an Account

3. Complete the required fields for account registration and click Continue

4. Select your preferred method of multi-factor authentication

5. Proceed to the Licensing home page

 

How do I create an account for youth under 13 years of age?

1. On an adult account, log in and click their name in the upper right corner

2. Select Linked Users from the drop-down menu

3. Click Link A User

4. If the account already exists, click Search Customer. If not, click +Create Customer

5. Follow the prompts and enter the required information

6. Click Submit

 

 

How do I link a user?

1. Log in and click your name in the upper right corner

2. Select Linked Users from the drop-down menu

3. Click Link A User

4. Click Search Customer or +Create Customer

5. Follow the prompts and enter the required information

6. Click Submit


How do I update my personal, contact & account details?

1. Log in and click your name in the upper right corner

2. Select Profile from the drop-down menu

3. Make appropriate changes and click Save


Please note that you are not able to change your driver’s license or social security numbers once they have been assigned to your profile.

How do I add a payment method?

1. Log in and click your name in the upper right corner

2. Select Wallet from the drop-down menu

3. Click +Add Payment method

4. Enter payment information

5. Click Save

 

How do I remove a payment method?

1. Log in and click your name in the upper right corner

2. Select Wallet from the drop-down menu

3. Click Remove

4. In the confirmation window, click Remove to confirm

 

How do I find a receipt in my account?

1. Log in and click your name in the upper right corner

2. Select My Purchases from the drop-down menu

3. Click Receipt to view purchase details


How do I view my messages?

1. Log in and click your name in the upper right corner

2. Select Inbox from the drop-down menu

3. View available messages

Education

What is my firearm safety number and how can I get a copy of my card?

Purchase a duplicate firearms safety certificate wherever hunting and fishing licenses are sold.

For more information or assistance with purchasing a duplicate safety certificate, contact DNR Enforcement Safety Training at enforcement.education@state.mn.us.

 

Safety certificates can also be obtained through the certifications link on your online profile. Login to the Minnesota online license sales portal . Click on your name, then select the “Certifications” link. All certifications can be viewed and printed from here.

 

What are the hunter education requirements by age?


In Minnesota, anyone born after December 31, 1979 and is  12 years old or older, must complete a hunter education and firearm safety course or similar course offered in another state, in order to purchase a firearms hunting license.

What is apprentice hunter validation?


An Apprentice Hunter Validation enables an individual who is normally required to have a Firearms Safety (FAS) Certificate, but does not have one, to try hunting two license years in a lifetime under the supervision of a licensed adult hunter.

How do I download the mobile app?

The mobile app is available on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Will the app work on all devices?

The mobile app is designed to run on iOS 8.0 or newer and Android 11 or newer.  Older operating systems are not supported.


Why are weather conditions or locations near me not showing up?

When a user first downloads or updates the app, they will be prompted to allow location services. Location access must be enabled for certain features, such as weather conditions and nearby locations, to function properly.

Harvest Validation and Registration

How do I register or validate a harvest?


1. Log in and select “Harvest Registration” from the top menu bar

 

2. Under Available Surveys any products with validation or registration available will be listed there

 

3. Complete the validation and registration with the appropriate information and click Submit

 

4.  View submitted surveys under the corresponding tabs

1. Log in and select the youth’s account from the drop-down under your name in the upper right corner

2. Select “Harvest Registration” from the top menu bar

Spouse Products

How do spouse products work?

Combination fishing and hunting licenses are available for Minnesota resident married couples. Non-resident married couples and non-resident parents also can purchase a family fishing license if they have children younger than 16.
